UPDATE: In honor of Memorial Day we are having one WOD at 630pm. We will being doing “Murph” in honor of all our nation’s heros. Please join us at 630 and all CrossFitters are welcome not just those from our box.
On 05/07/2011, 16 members of the CrossFit Thin Blue Line Family took on the Tough Mudder Competition in Mt. Snow, Vermont. The 10 mile course had everything from hills, snow, mud, dark tunnels, 36 degree water, more hills, and anything else you could think of to torture your body.
This Saturday, May 7th, 2011, the gym will be closed due to CFTBL’s coaches, as well as many of our members, heading up to the Tough Mudder.
There are few athletes in the world as in shape as fighters. They have it all, mental, spiritual and physical preparedness. This class will give you a “taste” of what it takes to train like a fighter. You will learn the fundamentals of fighting such as stance, movement, punching, kicking, knees, elbows and drills on the focus mitts, kick shields, Thai pads and heavy bag. It’s not too late to join the CrossFit Thin Blue Line Burpee Challenge. The goal is simple, do 1 burpee a day, increasing by 1 for 100 days.
Over the past few weeks, CFTBL has had a flurry of activity and some great happenings. First off, last Sunday, we were fortunate enough to have Crossfit Headquarters Attorney Dale Saran visit us and teach a special fundamentals class. Dale works hand in hand with CrossFit creator Greg Glassman and Dale also formerly owned a CrossFit box in Rhode Island. Dale trains with our group at the Bushido Jiu-Jitsu Academy and was instrumental in helping support our opening of CFTBL.
After a bit of delay, we are ecstatic to highlight our newly created pull up bars. Let me tell you, the wait was well worth it! We now have some nearly 50 feet of pull up bars that are ideal for everything CrossFit. Hope all of you are ready for the rings and the WOD’s that have already begun. What a great Saturday it was at CFTBL, where we began our on-ramp sessions with 15 motivated, enthusiastic athletes. First off, all of us at CrossFit Thin Blue Line want to thank each of you who have inquired about our CrossFit gym. From the beginning of this venture, we were all in agreement that our vision was to open a top quality facility. Building a CrossFit gym with first class amenities and training equipment is an integral part of that plan. With this in mind, we want to inform all of you that we will have our Open House Saturday, July 17th, 2010.
